Our introduction to Dr. Jonathan P. Higgins was the TedX CSULB talk called From Fear to Freedom explaining how they embraced their personal power. Outside of earning their doctoral degree focused on the needs of queer men of color in higher education, Dr. Jonathan P. Higgins, also known as DoctorJonPaul, has written over 100 articles examining queer/trans people of color issues all while advocating for more visibility of marginalized people in media. Their work has been recognized by the National Black Justice Coalition. Jonathan has done tremendous work for their community in California and has created a brand that speaks to being a voice for queer/trans people of color.

With an impressive list of credentials, DoctorJonPaul is a  multi-hyphenated thought leader in the truest sense of the word: media critic, journalist, scholar and social justice defender that continues to demonstrate an uncanny ability to thrive while speaking truth to power.
