Program Opportunities
► LENGTH: 1-Hour Screening & Speech; 3-Hour Program; or Half Day
Program (Programs Include Film Screening)
► PROGRAM GOALS: Each of the programs utilize BURDEN to open a safe
space discussion around: 1) implicit and explicit bias; 2) discrimination and
race; and, 3) how all impact the workplace and/or the community. Each
program is customizable and tailored to the specific needs of the client
organization.
► RESEARCH NOTE: Theories of eudaimonic entertainment and
destigmatization concur to suggest that empathic feelings elicited by
portrayals of minorities can increase audience interest in issues of bias, race
and discrimination; and can lead to pro-social attitude change toward persons
experiencing bias and discrimination. (Journal of Communication Research)
