BOBBY DUCHARME

CLASS OF 2021 BEQ PRIDE LEADER UNDER 40

HE, HIM IS 29

The year 2020 feels like a worldwide wake-up call in so many ways. As a leader, I realize the most important thing I have learned and will take forward is…

No matter what challenges come our way, now is our time to shine and be empowered. Our resilience is stronger than ever and we are shaping a new world. We’re here, we’re queer, we’re trans, we’re POC and nothing can slow us down on our path to freedom!

Bobby Ducharme’s nominator says he has always been a trendsetter when it comes to the topic of Inclusion and Diversity culture at PVH Canada. As the company’s Talent Acquisition leader he is inclusive in his approach to identifying top talent for the organization and in fostering an inclusive workplace where employees can bring their full authentic selves to the work. Ducharme holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from HEC Montréal.

Bobby Ducharme’s approach to building an inclusive workforce drives his engagement strategy both inside and outside the company.  His approach — based on honesty, openness and striving to be consciously unbiased — consistently delivers success when creating the best possible employment candidate experience in hopes of hiring the best talent for PVH.

Pride Montreal and Pride Toronto are high visibility and high priority projects for Ducharme.  He makes sure there is brand alignment, inclusive messaging in the marketplace and a sense of belonging among talent prospects, current employees and customers.

The novel coronavirus pandemic required distanced collaboration during the 2020 Pride celebrations. PVH was able to overcome the physical distance with meaningful community engagement by highlighting, employing, and casting members of the LGBTQ+ community for various inclusion programs. Their Inclusion and Diversity programs were aligned with the Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger brands to provide an opportunity to level up the conversations around racism and bias inside and outside the company.

Ducharme credits his willingness to question his own bias for helping him to be a successful leader. He believes every individual deserves respect and recognition for being part of the team. PVH is seeing results from Ducharme’s leadership of the Inclusion and Diversity efforts that they want to continue to grow for the future.
