What do you believe is your responsibility to this moment in history?
It is heartwarming to hear chatter about resolutions, goal planning parties and cute vision board date nights with couples. All of this joyous commotion, despite Omicron, inspired me to think about what it is that I want to feel right now without anxiety rushing me toward the future. Focusing my attention on how I live and take care of myself and others has helped bring clarity to my mission at Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow and #WFHStudio. My responsibility is to be a fantastic leader, friend, brother, son and lover. My commitment is to be honest about what I need and when I need it. We can only effectively support others when we know how to help ourselves.
For entrepreneur and brand strategist Daniel P. Calderon, when the world was shutting down, he knew it was time for him to open up. Daniel opened up his creativity, his network and a masterclass on how to maneuver with intention during a pandemic. While many were frantic and trying to figure out the next steps during the beginning stages of quarantine, the former human resources and operational leader who once ran a $300 million-grossing district at Target had a pivot in his entrepreneurial journey. Daniel launched #WFH (Work From Home) this last Spring and the more recent Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow (EOT), which are meant to give back and inspire. Along with his business partner and education director, Jack Salomone, Daniel launched EOT to teach at-promise youth in every community how to solve problems through entrepreneurship.
At EOT they have reframed the business plan as a transferable toolkit for finding creative solutions to any problem. The organization offers a holistic approach to business education. The organization was founded on the basic principle that true leaders teach others how to lead. This immersive program empowers young people to pursue their goals as a serviceable act of empowerment to leverage throughout life. EOT will soon announce new programs to create opportunities to close the racial wealth gap for its students. Daniel Calderon credits his co-founder, the countless volunteers and mentors who have helped him build the nonprofit EOT and the talented creatives and business strategists who helped grow #WFHStudio. Launching, managing and growing multiple startups is not for the faint of heart, and Daniel is blessed to have top-tier support.
