Dr.Davin D. Clemons Class of 2020 BEQ Pride LGBTQ+ Leader Under 40

By 2030, every state in the U.S. will have enacted employment protection laws to ensure that LGBTQIA employees cannot be fired based on their sexual orientation.

Dr. Davin D. Clemons is a native Memphian with a Bachelor’s Degree from Lemoyne-Owen, Masters of Science in Operations Management from the Univ. of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a Masters in Divinity and a Doctoral Degree in Leadership in Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary. Dr. Clemons and his mother, Gwendolyn, co-own The Unleashed Voice (TUV) Media Marketing Firm, LLC. TUV Media cultivates the stories of the multicultural LGBTQ community through The Unleashed Voice Magazine and The Unleashed Voice talk radio show.

Dr. Davin Clemons co-owner and publisher of The Unleashed Voice Magazine LLC (TUV) —cultivating the stories of the multicultural LGBTQ community with the world. TUV Magazine aids the LGBTQ community and its allies in redefining how diverse LGBTQ individuals wish to be identified, seen or spoken about. 

Dr. Clemons and his mother Gwendolyn D. Clemons also launched, “The Unleashed Voice for the LGBTQ Community” talk radio show on KWAM 990 CBS affiliate which airs every Saturday at 5:00 pm CST. The show serves as a sounding board for the LGBTQ Community. A variety of guests are included in the programming to offer support, provide insight and educate the listeners on important issues in the community. These issues range from understanding the perspective of parents of gay children to topics of interest to married LGBTQ couples to issues surrounding people of the transgender experience to several Memphis-based theology professors as consultants on theology and providing a biblical perspective. 

Dr. Clemons received his Bachelor of Art in Criminal Justice Administration from LeMoyne Owen College. He graduated with a Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and he graduated from Memphis Theological Seminary with both a Master of Divinity and a Doctoral degree in Leadership in Ministry. Dr. Clemons is a member of the City of Memphis’ LGBTQ Employee Resource Group S.P.E.C.T.R.U.M. (Sexuality, Pride, EduCation, Truth, Respect and Unity).
